If you were to look at the Earth yesterday from a good way out in space (I didn’t have time myself) then you would see our big blue marble was lit by the sun from top to bottom along its axis. This Vernal Equinox marks the beginning of meteorological spring and our days are now longer than our nights.
The sunset was a subtle hazy affair with some funkily shaped clouds.
On the way back down the hill I was surprised to see a sudden stampede of lights bouncing down the hill towards me, then run past about 40 metres away. I’d packed away my camera kit but just in case they decided to come back up I got it all back out again and waited. I didn’t have to wait long.
This was a pack of about 40 runners going downhill with headtorches. I think the random one at the bottom was someone going for a pee behind that bush and popping out at the end of the exposure (oooer!)
This was them running back up again, which they repeated about 6 more times. Bunch of nutters. Nice nutters, and very fit nutters obviously.
For those interested, the first shot was on a tripod and was 25 seconds exposure. The 2nd was at 25,600 ISO with a 1/8 sec exposure. I’ve edited the captions on each image to include my camera settings as requested in the comments below by Brian. Do let me know if you find this useful.
