Oh, I love this post. We had a disappointing eclipse. I think we were in the wrong place or on the wrong side or we had a sun that didn't want to play so these photos have really made me feel better. You do think at these moments that everyone else got it right and you didn't. Love Batman!
Very well planned Tom, only initially got to see the eclipse through a colander and on the TV. Did risk a eye with my 950nm infared filter, wish now that I had set up with a tripod, because at 5000 ISO shutter speed to slow for hand held when I fitted it to my standard camera!

most people where we were didn't see a great deal - my exposure were dialled down to see the details of the brightness
