This week's Top 20
Your music for this week’s selection is a classic from my youth.
This week’s Top 20 most liked images on Edinburgh O’Clock bluesky account - 24 images every day - a fantastic random selection curated by an algorithm, then liked by followers on this bluesky account.
No.20 - autumn in the gutter
No.19 - an old friend of mine who is sadly dying of Ash Die Back. One of two Ash trees near the top of the Kirkgate hill leading to Harlaw reservoir which have featured in many shots over the last 15 years or so.
No.18 - Barclay Viewforth Kirk in a winter sky.
No.17 - by sheer coincidence, the same kirk from a different angle with the castle brooding down the end of the street.
No.16 - a long view over Portobello and Edinburgh to a sunset behind the Forth bridges and the mountains 60 miles beyond.
No.15 - Castlehill and Edinburgh Castle - the low building bottom right used to be the massive water tank built in the 1670’s that received water piped in from the springs in Comiston. This transformed the lives of Edinburgh citizens who could now collect fresh water from the wellheads built around the Old Town.
No.14 - fireworks at the Tattoo as seen from Marchmont.
No.13 - king of the hill, this goat’s kingdom is the Almond Valley Heritage Centre - well worth a visit for all ages.
No.12 - My mate Quobby’s field - please don’t tell him that I visit every spring to sprinkle poppy seeds in his crops especially for shots like this.
No.11 - sunrise behind the 3 Forth bridges with my bazooka lens.
No.10 - noctilucent cloud over the Bass Rock in the deep summer gloaming. These clouds, also called night-shining clouds, are rare, high-altitude clouds of ice crystals that appear in the mesosphere about 76–85 km (50 miles) above Earth.
No.9 - sunset behind St Mary’s before they changed the street layout.
No.8 - a wee shower over the castle at dusk.
No. 7 - A not quite full-fat moon rising over Edinburgh Castle esplanade.
No.6 - same fortress, but the sun this time.
No.5 - a wee Robin looking for snacks
No.4 - starry night sky over Loch Ard in the Trossachs.
No. 3 - geese over Barn’s Ness at sunrise
No.2 - is one of these beautiful trees up near Harlaw which always make me think of Africa
No.1 this week is this cracking rainbow over Easter Road stadium in Leith.
That’s yer lot folks

Maybe see you out there.

Numbers 4 and 2 were my favourites this week. Have you ever driven down to Anstruther from St Andrews? We call the trees on that road our “African” trees.
Great images again, thank you for sharing!😀
