Fire Horse
Happy Chinese New Year
My newsletter has fresh weekly photo stories of Edinburgh & beyond sent direct by email if you subscribe - free if you choose or pay a wee bit to give me a regular pat on the back, and get freebies, discounts and access to live Zoom sessions.
You suggested I add a wee tips payment option - for when you don’t want, or can’t afford to subscribe but would like to offer something as a “Cheers mate, enjoyed that” gesture. So here is a link to do just that.
This will be the Year of the Fire Horse which reminded me of this photo I took of my wee boy a few years ago out at the Kelpies.
“Wee Jamie” now glowers at me from above, such is the race of time.
This is the castle tonight, but a few years ago there was a lot more effort put into the celebration.
Grabbing shots of a moving video is a bit tricky, but I ramped up the sensitivity (ISO) and shot in a series of bursts on a tripod - a bit hit or miss.
On a previous year Burns Night almost coincided with Chinese New Year, so a series of events was concocted to celebrate the collision with Burns & Beyond across the city.
Rabbie and the dragon met in St Giles
and Kinnaris Quintet played under a roof of Chinese Lanterns.
You can check out their music on this 360 tour I did for another event - Global Rainbow by Yvette Mattern
not forgetting the Piggy Year
and the cat year
I hope you all have a marvellous Year of the Horse.
Maybe see you out there.
